Calendar
At Creative Coding Utrecht we organise a range of monthly events that cater to different interests, age groups and skill level. We aim to help you develop your connection with all things coding, no matter how foreign the subject might seem to you.
Have no idea what Creative Coding means? Have a background in programming but you wouldn’t know where to start making your own, creative stuff? Or do you simply want to enhance your pre-existing skills and create even more flashy visuals, animations and more?
Filter our events by topic and accessibility level, there is something for everyone. To look up any of our past events, check out the archive.
Code Poetry Retreat
Hey coder, ever wondered what the poet in you can do? Join this workshop by artist and coder Flor de Fuego for a refreshing dive into code poetry: where text becomes visual, visuals become text, and code transforms into a poetic act.
This workshop explores the intersection of languages, like code, visuals, and spoken or written words, and disciplines such as art, design, technology, and poetry. By combining these elements, we aim to create new semantics and meanings from what already exists. Together we’ll see the web as an interactive notebook: a space to experiment with code poetry sketches that blend artistic expression with digital tools. Using creative environments like Hydra, p5.js, and p5.asciify, you’ll build your own sketches, which can be turned into prints, web pieces, art installations, or elements for live performance.
Expect a hands-on session with surprising possibilities for combining disciplines and experimenting with code. For artists, designers, poets, programmers, and anyone curious about pushing their practice in new directions. No coding experience needed. Just bring your laptop and your creativity!
