Opening Concert - ITERATIONS 2025
Iterations launches with a night unlike anything we have done before: three groundbreaking performances that push live coding into new territories of sound, image, and imagination at the New Music Lab in the Koninklijk Conservatirium. The space has a 12-speaker sound system that envelops you, maximising the experience.
The evening opens with Webscape Navigation by nesso and Flor de Fuego, a browser-based performance where a gamepad becomes an instrument and the web turns into a navigable 3D world. HTML elements, interface fragments, and a live console fold into the aesthetics, revealing the hidden layers of the internet and transforming debugging into performance.
Next is Godshatter by Alexandra Cárdenas and Gábor Ugray. This audiovisual journey dives into the mind of a Mesoamerican deity, driven by Alexandra’s live-coded ambient drones and experimental beats. Gábor’s particle-based visuals, built from a 3D scan of the god’s effigy, swirl with fragments of live code, blurring the space between ritual, myth, and computation.
We close with Saskia Freeke and Alina Petrova, who bring an energetic, improvisational performance where patterns, rhythms, and visuals unfold and transform in real time.
